Regenerative Agriculture

Regenerative Agriculture is a system of farming principles and practices that rehabilitates and enhances an ecosystem by first focusing on soil health.

Practices include increasing biodiversity, enriching soil by use of composting, worms, chop and drop pruning, and planting cover crops, intentional and controlled grazing of livestock to mimic natural movement of the world's great herds, and observing and mimicking nature's design.

Regenerative agriculture sets up conditions for a healthier ecosystem, improved water retention, higher yields, and carbon sequestration.

Here at Sweetwater Heritage Farm, we are in the growing stages, still learning, trying new things, observing what works, and learning from our failures.  Our goal is to grow healthy, nutritious, organic food and share our journey and experiences, and food with others.
